PIONEERS OF GWADAR
Pakistan had Karachi as its main port for maritime and naval purposes. Port Qasim father east was closer to the Indian border. In the 1971 War Pakistan had realized the dangers to Karachi from Indian attack. The Thus Port Qasim further east was no consolation. West of Karachi was established at Ormara. Somewhat midway on Pakistan’s Coast Ormara offered, well placed and a balanced site for Pakistan Naval strategy.
